Annealing Blanket
The blanket used to put your beads under to cool off. Can't remember what its real name is right now. Can that go in the kiln?

Fiber blanket. Yes, I use it to line the bottom of my kiln just in case my controller freaks out and I have a melt down.

Yes, but it might stink and smoke and change color temporarily as the binders start to burn out. I think very little, if any, fiber blanket is pre-fired.

Check with firms that rebuild large industrial types of furnaces or boilers. They use a ceramic fiber blanket that works very well for bead work. Often they have scrap pieces available that are the perfect size for lampworking needs.

Or I would imagine that you could also use fiber paper. It's thinner, it's what I use when fusing if I run out of kiln wash for my shelf.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate your input. I knew it held up to the hot beads but wasn't sure about sustained heat. Thanks.
