Smile Redoing the "studio"

I have a part of a part of a room in my husbands woodworking shop building. It hasn't been changed in over 20 years. I have been putting salvaged pieces, table, cab's in it. Finally decided I was going to remove the wallpaper and repaint. Did that. Than, it looked so nice and I got Alan on board with what I wanted to do. I was pricing out cabinets and making floor plans. Came across a good deal on Craigslist for a set of cabinets that was 10' x 2' x7'. Lovely Mauve laminate from an old clinic. All of it for $100.00.
Grabbed it, have now painted it and started installing. Slow going with all that but it is starting to come together. Here a just a couple pictures so far.
This is the original cabinets I found and had to move

All is now painted and installed except for the wall shelving. That is painted and I hope to have them attached to the wall this weekend.

Lots of work, but you only have to do it once! That will look great!

It's looking great! Hope I luck out on cabinets on Craigslist when the time comes!

Who invented mauve, anyway? Yuk! The new color looks wonderful! Can I ask what type/brand you used to cover the laminate?

Barbara,
First I used a orbital sander on them to rough up the surface. Than used Benjamin Moore all in one kind of paint. Primer/sealer. Two coats. It takes 30 days to fully cure so kind of tender. In hindsight I would have used a semi gloss but I used a satin and it is going to be harder to clean but overall I am pleased. Mauve was very "in" when I got married. Luckily it no longer is. Uck is right.
