Graphite Paddle
I am hoping someone can assist me.
I dropped my graphite paddle and now it has several dings in it.
Would I be able to use fine wet and dry sandpaper to try and remove them?
When I roll a hot bead they end up with the marks in them & are difficult to remove OR should I just buy a new one?
Cheers!

Yes, you can sand the graphite smooth. You can also carve it, or round an edge, or add a notch, or shape it anyway you want.
When finished shaping it, work your way from medium sandpaper to fine, to extra fine, to as fine as you can get. Then, wash the paddle in some mild soap and water. You can use a SOS or Brillow pad, or a plastic scrubbie. Rinse clean, and allow to dry completely.

Graphite Paddle
Thank you for your reply.
I was not quite sure, as it seemed to dent so easily I thought there was no way of fixing it.
I will have a go & thank you again for your assistance.
Cheers!

Do I remember correctly that graphite will conduct electricity? If so, please make sure you're properly grounded if using power tools.

Probably a bigger danger using power tools is if the graphite dust gets into the electric motor. Might cause a fire flash.
But seriously, graphite is easy to carve and sand with hand tools.

Thank you for your assistance, I have already sanded & polished the paddle by hand.
It turned out great, I was a little worried that I might make a dip in it where the ding was but having sanded the whole surface not just where the ding was I am thrilled to say that it looks just like a new one!!!
Thanks again!!
Cheers!
