Default Is Vetrofond black OK to order again?

There are posts from several months where everyone was getting batches of Vetro black that were shocky beyond extreme, with chunk explosions, whole rods splitting & major pitting going on.

Is the Vetro black back to "normal" again?

There's always CIM Hades if you want a well-behaved black. Awesome stuff!

I second Hades as the best black ever invented. Dense, problem free and does awesome things with silver and silver glass.

I've read wonderful things about the hades but, I'm still too much of a newbie to waste the Hades. I just need a decent black to practice with - that will behave - so I know whether it's me, or the black that's having the problems.

I just got a bunch of Vetrofond black from Wale and it's fine and dandy.

Got a load of it a month ago and not had any problems. I use a HH too and its so tough that I once had to resort to three blows of the hammer on concrete to break some off a mandrel. I think the makers have solved the problems

Great! I think this is where I'm ordering from as I want to get some CIM pinks (and other stuff,) too, and LBS gives free glass with an order over $50.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind for the future. But I'll already be working with Vetrofond & Moretti rods and I want to add in some luscious CIM pinks. Even though all these companies are supposedly compatible, adding a forth company into the mix, and possibly into one bead, might be just asking for trouble right now, being pretty much of a newbie and all.
