Smile Silver cores—PMC or silver tubing?

Those of you who make such gorgeous silver cores for your beads, which do you prefer—PMC or silver tubing? Which will be more expensive? Which is more difficult? Has anybody tried both & have a bit of advice for a novice?
Thanks,
Gretchen/Piedra Designs

I love shopping for silver cored beads.. I don't think I've seen any PMC ones. Sounds like an awesome new look for silver cored beads. Think of all the things you could do with it...

I always thought that silver cores were made with silver tubing or rivets. I've never heard of pmc cores. I'd love to see some or a tutorial if someone has it.

Default New PMC book out...

...a couple of months ago, a new book came out featuring different PMC artists and their unique techniques for metal clay. Barbara Becker Simon wrote a section on silver clay cores for beads -- I bought it on Amazon. I just looked everywhere for the darn thing so I could provide the title/author and can't find it...when I do, I'll come back. Meanwhile you could do a search for Barbara, she's the one who announced it.

FYI,
Lea

PMC Technic is the name of the book...it's filled with amazing ideas from many talented artists.

I have a couple packages of the low ifre PMC. Do you have to fire the PMC first and then add the bead to the core? Or can I add raw PMC to the glass & melt them together?
