a simple dragon sculpt
Would something like this be of interest to you. I just whipped it together out of clear real fast to give you an idea. It is off mandral so there is no hole through it. but that can be modified.
Let me know and I will work up a tut for you.

I just whipped it together
I wish I could "whip" up stuff like that! That is incredible! I'd love to know how to make a dragon like that! But I don't think I'm anywhere near having enough skills to even follow a tutorial.

What a great little dragon!!! Mike, that's awesome!
I'd love to have a tutorial on that! I've just started off mandrel sculpture, and that would be perfect!

Beautiful dragon, and in clear it just lets your mind wander through the possibilities. Just whipped it up? I can just about manage to whip up dinner.
That little form is so out of my league. Don't sell yourself short. Fast does not mean careless.
If you can do that sort of thing in soft glass I really want to know how. If not, I'd still read the tutorial. Who knows what gem a person could find and apply to another form.

Hi Mike,
Sorry for my delay I have been without a computer. That is just wonderful, either off mandrel or on mandrel would be great. i would like to be able to wear one. If that is a quick one you are brilliant.

Sorry this has taken so long yall. But here it is.
I tried to put it on LE but I was limited to the amount of photos I could use. So I build a web page that seems to work well. The web page is on a demo program so ignore any weird stuff on it, just enjoy the tut.

Incredible
I find it really incredible that you can make it seem so easy...
Have you ever thought of making your own DVD, so I can see it at home how you make it?
I give it 5 stars!

Wonderful tutorial!! I have a few days off in a row because of the fourth of July holiday, and I can't WAIT to try this !!
I took a class w/Jason Herring at Tin City in CT in June, and am so excited to work off mandrel!! Thanks for the tutorial!!
Can we all post our attempts here in this thread? Or should we start up a Gallery thread for all our tries?

Go to his web page, he sells his tutorials in DVD form, I think only $7.00.

You make it look so easy. I'm going to try today.
I'm sure it won't look anything like yours, but if I don't try I can't crash and burn. Or soar, one can always be optimistic.

Great tutorial. I tried and came up with a pretty good little dragon for a first attempt. But I think the better part for me was getting motivated to try something new.
After I tried making yours I went on to create my own version of a dragon. I had thought about doing it before but just needed a little push. So what I really want to say is "Thanks Mike for inspiring me!"

Hi everyone... the dragon lured me in.... i have some beadstyle dragons on boro www.glassartists.org/niveditaphoenixrising
when i first was teaching myself the GlassDance,,,in a tiny cabin in the redwoods during one of the wettest winters ever, dragons were a fascination for me, all of the attitude and action inherent! it is great to see how everyone creates their own!
