chalcedony comes from gafferglassusa.com Wonderful people to order from. Try some of their veiled gaffer glass.

Hi Sandy, "Chalcedony" and R108 and "Raku", "Jitter Bug" are all the same! Different companies have changed the name. I took R108 to Italy, showed it to lampworking friends there, and they all say, with a shrug of their shoulders, "It's CALCEDONIO"! Same effects/colors. It's been around for centuries!!

I agree, Olympic Colorrods, can sell it to you in chunks or big fat rods that you can then make your own chunks from.

R108 Iris Orange (or Raku Jitterbug as Val Cox named it a few years ago) is made by Reichenbach, Chalcedony is made by Gaffer Glass in NZ.

Most people can get more colour out of the lower coe R108 than out of the 104coe version. However, even if you don't get rainbows it is a pretty glass - but for some reason people will only be happy if they get loads of colors. Its a lovely earthy multi-tonal glass that will sometimes give unexpected reactions if you work it in the right way. Just love it for what it is and whatever you get, I do.

Chalcedony is 96coe and easier to get the multi colours from.

I am in the UK but have both R108 chunks and Chalcedony in a few forms - more stock due too. PM me if I can help.
