Hallowe'en weekend 'Glass Jam' at Playing with Fire!
Everyone is welcome to come to the
Playing with Fire!
Hallowe'en Weekend Glass Jam! Friday, Oct. 29 - Sunday, Oct 31
>>>>>Of course, freaky get-ups (in addition to our usual freakiness) are more than encouraged
Regular Friday night Studio Open Torch from 5:30 on... will be the start of the Jam weekend for anyone who's traveling from away and arriving in town on Friday night.
Then Saturday and Sunday starting at 9:00am and going on........ throughout the day 'til late. We usually wrap it up by 11:00 pm. (hey, we're not as young as we used to be! LOL!)
Use of the ten torch stations is shared, amongst whoever is here at any given time. Bring your own favorite tools/glasses and/or use the studio tools/buy glass here. Bring your own torch if you wish. Demos are often requested and are a fun part of the Glass Jam weekend. (Doesn't have to be a glass demo. Other media are welcome. (we've had Viking Knit and Kumihimo at other Jams.) Feel free to request a demo, or offer to do a demo (put a post right here in this thread). And feel free to contribute any type of item for the "door prize" pile each day! (completely optional)
$25 per day + Bring a Pot Luck Item/s to share each day (we have the grill on the deck, the microwave and the range for cooking/heating of things). We'll provide coffee, teas, water, plates, and utensils...
We're trying to be more green --- we'll have spring water in gallon+ jugs --- so please bring your water bottles to refill!
Pot luck coordination/planning often starts here in this thread ! >>>>>
RSVPs are appreciated (here in this thread, or with a phone call, or an email). 207-594-7805, hotglass@midcoast.com
Coordination of room-sharing may start here, too. ( Old Granite Inn gives 20% discount and encourages PWF! room-sharing ) (Other inns and hotels give our students discounts as well, call us for details.)
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Ed & Virginia

Wuhoo! We'll be there.
Kristi and I are sharing a room at The Granite Inn. There is room for 1-2 more females if anyone wants to share the rent! Breakfasts there are to die for!
I'm going to check out Tink's Comfort Potatoes recipe to be sure it is gluten free. May bring that. If not, it's back to sweet and sour meatballs.... if anyone is getting sick of them, let me know!
Lyn is a fuddy duddy and last I knew has to work. Darned store OWNS her! (They are so lucky to have her... Hi Lyn- don't you feel a headache coming on???)
Sonje says she'll be up Saturday... yeah!
So, who all is going to make it up/down?
Sue

I plan to come, but not sure which day yet. If the mac and cheese person is not coming, I'll bring that. Otherwise, I'll bring a finger food. Let me know.

You can never have enough Mac and Cheese! And if I'm remembering right, it's Lyn that has brought it in the past and she can't make it- I think.

Nope, Lyn's Mom rules the world of Snickerdoodles! Don't even try to compete! (translation: if you bring something else, then I can eat snickerdoodles AND your treats! I'm not stupid-- just slightly fluffy-- sigh....)

Phyllis pm'd me. She'll be there! (Booked her own room at The Granite Inn though-- could have shared the rent with Kristi and I! lol)
Looking forward to Saturday.
I am bringing 2 BeadBoxMan bead boxes for Door Prizes. People love these boxes. Great for storing special beads in to display.
Ooooh and thinking of making gluten free Cake Balls. Ya have to wait and see what these are... but they are delish!!!
See everyone Saturday.

It's official! I picked up "stuff" on my lunch hour today.
I am making gluten free sweet and sour meatballs.... oats are gluten free, right???? Instead of tapioca bread, I'll use oatmeal.
AND I am making gluten free chocolate/peanutbutter cake balls. Not going to spoil the surprise of what these are.... just wait! Tasty!
And looks like Sheila is bunking with Kristi and I at The Granite Inn! Welcome aboard, bunkie.

After taking the Which Rocky Horror character are you quiz, and came up as Eddie, I considered switching to meatloaf (again!), but I'm sticking with mac and cheese and a surprise sweet. Probably be there on Sunday

Hahaha... ask and you shall receive, Jo! Here they are. I'm too bushed to type in narratives over each picture tonight so I'll let them stand on their own for now. Perhaps tomorrow I'll go in and edit. (Some need explaining... right, Princess Dot???)
