Make a white bead, wrap the copper leaf around it trying to not overlap, lightly burnish it in and then cover it with clear or light transparent pink.
I love copper!

Copper green base - green and yellow enamels under copper foil - experiment until you get the temperature right so you get the lovely dark green of the copper foil mixed with the turquoises from the copper green - really lovely

Black base with white enamels on it. Then burnish in a single layer of copper leaf. Its a beautiful bright turquoise blue!

Hey jjwiskus,
make the copper leaf so thin as it is possible and try with canes of KUGLER COE 104 from Arrowsprings.com But I don`t know if it works, it works defentively with KUGLER COE 93.

and a big P.S. - the copper will turn black and ugly. Just deal with it and finishe the bead. The color will improve in the kiln.

We did Copper leaf beads in Jen's class this weekend. Base glass, roll in white
enamel, roll in copper leaf. Burn the crap out of it. Put in kiln.
It makes a lovely blue green color!
