Default Working with Orange Rods C104

I am new to lampworking and everytime I work with the C104 orange glass it always seems to turn red. What am I doing wrong. Am I getting the glass too hot...or not hot enough? I am looking for a "true" orange color...not pumpkin orange...but a redish orange (my Florida Gator colors). Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!!!!

You might want to post this in the Tips and Techniques section.
Sounds like you just don't have the right color of glass.

Hi gatorgirl.
I was making beads for a "gatorgirl" and they kept having the same thing happen. She had to send me back a bunch cause they didn't match what she needed. SO, I had her send me one of her beads and was able to get a match using bullseye orange.
that was the only true, even color match I could get.
hope this helps ya,
Sue
