Rare Earth Magnets
Question for you all...
I am making some things for an upcoming bazaar and they involve rare earth magnets...which would be worn on a shirt.
Do you think I should include a disclaimer regarding people who have pacemakers or internal defibrilators? The manufacturer said they were standard rare earth magnets and issued no MSDS or other warnings, etc. I am a bit leary of selling something without one...what would you do?
Thanks for your input!

Good call Gail. My hubby has an ICD and these could possibly pose a problem.

Maybe include not for use with children (danger if swallowed has been reported with magnets) too?

I've been reading that they can pose problems to pregnant women, people with internal defibrillators, and pacemakers...good gravey I wouldn't want to hurt anyone!
I wrote the company and all they wrote back was: The product uses a standard Rare magnet magnet. We don't issue information on the magnetic field or safety warnings concerning this product.
I have since written them back and asked for the gauss and/or tesla spec. Will see if they are able to give me any more information or not.
Seems a bit short-sighted in my opinion....think I will play it safe and make up a little card to pop in the bag with any sale.

Maybe just a more prominent sign stating "some products contain magnets" or "this product contains a rare earth magnet" that should be sufficient I would think.
