Default Next Step from Nortel Minor

I have a plain old Nortel Minor with an Oxycon at 5l/min and Propane. I only work soft glass, I have no interest in Boro... but I am unable to do as fine detail work as I would like as I have no option for a pinpoint flame??

Love to hear some suggestions for another torch that will run on the same combo and give me a small concentrated flame when I need it?

Thanks for any help you all can offer..
Avery

Any options to add to or upgrade the oxycon? That would open up a whole lot of really nice torches with great pinpoint flames like the GTT Lynx.

Looks like that Bethlehem wants 8-10 liters from a 15 liter oxycon.. My old fella is a max 10 liter machine and I think it might struggle to produce the required amount.

Curious if you actually need to to bigger.....
I have a GTT cricket with the same set up as yours. It can go down to a really nice pinpoint flame.

I am thinking I don't really need to go bigger just more versatile..

I went from a Minor to a Lynx and positively love the versatility of the Lynx - (but I have a 10l/m oxycon so not sure how it would work with a 5).

Cheers

Extremely versatile torch. The triple mixes from GTT are amazing but I dont think it will work well on a 5L oxycon.

For pinpoint, I'd go with an Alpha or a Cricket.

I'd go with a Bobcat. This is a Bobcat running on 2 5lpm concentrators. It can get a pretty good pinpoint flame too. Not as good as a Lynx but pretty good. Much better than a Minor.

I think my Bobcat gets a better small flame than my Cricket. And the newer Bobcats are supposed to perform better than the old ones on concentrators.

I have a Lynx, a Bobcat, a Cricket and a Mid Range Plus. For detail work I like the Bobcat best. I have to say that I have not used the Lynx much though, so I don't have a good basis for comparing the Lynx to the Bobcat.

I have never used an Alpha, but I know a lot of people like them.

You can get a needle flame with a Lynx or any of the triple mix torches. But you're going to have a hard time running it on just one 5lpm concentrator.
