Default Red stringer turns black???

I am trying to keep my red bright, but it keeps turning black on the edges. It just fades and looks bad.
I use bullseye glass. I have been making a simple clear bead with red and black stringer design.

They are really ugly.

Have you tried encasing your red stringer in clear?

I will give encasing a try.

I know when I had that problem when fusing powders, I found that the kiln needed to be vented more to keep the red redder.
I was hoping I could use more or less oxygen or propane.

Thanks

That's really weird... it sounds like a chemical reaction. Can I ask what color numbers you're using? Are you able to post a pic?

Have you tried working the red a little cooler?
