Default Anyone have any advice on imploding letters

I am new to glass, and I have been trying to write words in my pendants. The more that I do it the better they get, but I was wondering if there is a certain technique to do it or if it is just practice that makes it perfect.

janel, the easiest way for most people is to do the implosion from a tube. blow a big thin bubble on the end so you have a big surface to write on. write your letters backwards using only the area around the centre of the bubble....then collapse it back down to solid and implode more if you'd like

it is practice makes perfect, but heres a trick i do for when im not confident of my stringer work or whatever, is lay down the stringer as kind of a cold punty so that if u dont like it u can knock it off and try again.
like, i get the area im gonna lay it down (i usually use marias over bubbles) but i warm it up but not like hot hot, and then i leave the flame a lil bushy and holding the maria or bubble slightly under the bushy flame i write with the stringer, pull it out, and if i like it i melt it in and if i dont, i knock it off with some tweezers. im not good at describing so i hope that helps! i use this when im doing my flowers or layering my colors for letters too.
