Bobcat and an Oxycon
Hey all,
Is anyone running a GTT Bobcat on one oxygen concentrator? If yes, how is that working for you? If no, what are you doing instead?
I have a GTT Bobcat and a refurbished deVilBiss MC64. Do you think this is a setup that can work?

It works just fine Go for it girl!! If you want to boro tho, you'll have to step it up with a 2nd concentrator.

*sigh of relief*
I was nervous that I wouldn't have enough oxy volume.
Do you guys get any carbon buildup at all? Jed at Frantz told me to watch out for that.

I am using a Bobcat and 1 oxycon but added a second one a little while later becuse I do boro and one was not enough. I can also run a mid-range off of the set-up when I need a bigger torch. I have never had a problem with carbon on either of the torches.

At this time I'm not planning on getting into boro, but I've learned that lampwork is addicting enough that its best not to say never.
I really appreciate all the feedback. I'm so stoked to get things hooked up.

I use a Bobcat with one concentrator. It works, not the same as when on tanked oxygen, but it does work.
I do get carbon build up. I just knock it off the end of the torch with a clean mandrel or my tweezers. If I don't do that, a blob will come off and get on the piece that I'm working on. Off the top of my head, I think I need to do that every 15 or 20 minutes.
(This did not happen when I was running it on tanked oxy, so I don't think that it is a problem with the torch.)
