Well Dave if someone didn't know that that was a screwed up wigwag, they would just think it was a really cool pendant, which it is.

Yes I agree, Bernhard needs to start selling his pendants, not putting them in a box, It's just not fair to the pendant, it wants to be out there getting compliments.

My latest marble using gold and silver fuming - I'm pretty stoked. 1 1/4" - kind of looks like smoke rings.

Hi Roberta! wow that marble is killer. Love it! Wish I could fume, but alas, no gold, no silver, and no idea how to do it. Maybe I'll find a class someday.

Good luck with the vortex marbles Bernhard, but try to remember how you get some of these attempts on the way cause I think they are pretty awesome.

Default Need some help where in flame

I need to know where to put the object to be fumed. I can see the fumes as I come up under the flame, but it doesn't seem to be depositing consistently on the Maria or the button.

Thank you for your help.

Hello yall! First one is a silver and gold fumed wigwag. The second is a silver fumed honeycomb. Mmmmmm love honeycombs! Thanks for looking.

So many different angles to get the different colors but here is a good one to show how deep the honey comb is.

Hi Sara, The fume on the left is a failed attempt at a wigwag design. Look at Phat Pats post (67) for a better example. Basically what I did was, fume a tube (22mm), then laid down straight lines of clear. Punty the end of the tube. Starting at the point where you put your clear glass, heat and make a 1/4 turn of the tube. Move up a bit and rotate the tube in the opposite direction. Turn the tube in another 1/4. I did this 2 more times and then heated and terminated the end. Try to keep the end centered(Which I didn't). Heat from the tip and collapse the design. When they turn out right they look like Phat Pats. This is as close as i have come to getting the wigwag right. Practice, practice, practice

thank you for the very in depth description. i am tooled up with the tubing and the metal balls. did you use silver or gold? see, i am a fuming newbee, my guess is that you can tell by the color tones but i don't know which is which. i am also guessing you put the clear lines on the outside of the tube since putting them inside would be impossible? yes? this seems a bit advanced for me. i make beads and want this kind of fumey, ethereal look in beads. hummmm

Hi Sara, I fumed, first silver, then gold. Make sure you have good ventilation and a mask. Breathing heavy metals is not good for you. Yes the clear is on the outside of the tube. You can fume your beads. For silver use a reducing flame, for gold, an oxidizing flame.
have fun,
Dave
