WOW!!! Awesome Julie!!! Thanks so very much for posting!!!!

I can see the rocking chair in the earlier "Flowers" pic now that you point it out; just amazing!!!! I don't suppose anyone would dare to sit in it...but how cute would a light-weight (felted?) "Edith Ann" (from the 70's "Laugh-in"...anyone else remember Lilly Tomlin's character?) be sitting in there - ha!

And that Chandelier - awesome!!!! I love "skull" stuff - but this is over the top...!!! Gorgeous!!! It looks like the skulls part is done with silver glass boro (?) and the brains "glow" - me likes!

Amazing event... a very special thank you to the entire team who helped put this event on... both the show and the invitational were nothing short of spectacular. Tears are coming to my eyes as I type this... because there is so much love for the glass community involved in putting these things together. I encourage everybody who melts glass to become a part of this event... show, shop or volunteer... all so much fun... I was blessed to do all three this year! It'll wear your ass out, but you're heart will be better for it.

Great picts Julie!!! Mine didn't turn out so well. Does anyone know who won in the flame off ? I left Sun morning and missed the auction. I am also still curious as to what happened to the Men in Blacks entry. I noticed it missing from the display. Brent my sister loved her worm hole.

I believe Team Northstar came in first. The skull chandelier.

I can post pics of all the flame off pieces if you all would like me to. I need to get my girlfriend to send them all to me first...but no prob.

Just got an email from the 'hot glass invitational'. If you subscribe here

http://www.internationalhotglassinvitational.com/

you should get a really good look at the winners.
And yes, the skull chandel. came in first!

I'm out for a while but will post more pics as soon as I receive them later.

Oh my gracious!!! Gorgeous!!!!! Thanks Julie, again, for the photos posted as you can! And of course, congrats on winning your Ribbon!!! You must be so very thrilled!!! I'm happy for 'ya! Can you post a pic. of your winning entry? I figure it will be shown later down the road as they show this years' winners in prep for next year's show, but I'd love to see NOW!!!

Julie, I second that. I was there and saw all the entries but, to tell you the truth, all the bling begins to run together after a while. I'd love to see what won your ribbon! We met at the Garden Buffet on Thursday night. I buzzed in with a few other friends and then buzzed out.

I had to fly out early Sunday morning so I missed seeing the invitational pieces. Thank you so much for posting such great pictures!

Debbie

Hi DeAnne and Debbie! Yes Debbie, I remember meeting you now! Hope to see you there next year too!
Here's the bead I entered that placed second. I'm holding it up beside the ribbon in my avatar.

Congrats Julie! I was there with Debbie, drooling over everyone's beads and marbles.
That is a gorgeous bead! I think I'm gonna' have to do the flame-off on the web! That dragon and the mermaid too are awesome!

Wow! Julie! A great piece. I do remember seeing it in Vegas! Again, thanks for posting all the great pictures. With any luck, I'll be in Vegas next year and who knows, maybe I will have something to show for my efforts!

Glad you're home safe, Ben...that was quite a trip for you, yeah? But, alas, I DO know what you were lucky enough to purchase from Brent (you devil, you!) - if it had not gone home with you, it surely would have gone home with me!!! (Giggle!) Sorry I didn't get a chance to say Hello...I cut my timing way too tight and I know I missed several cool peeps! Next year, maybe...

You're very welcome for the Turtle. Note my Avitar. It was great to meet everyone too. So sorry we didn't get a chance to do more and meet more people .

Default Wire Wrapping at the Expo

This was my first expo and hopefully not my last! I had a wonderful time, enjoyed the classes, and did my best to support the economy by spending my money at the market instead of in the casino.
Here are a few pendants I made after my wire wrapping class.
