HH Help, urgent!
Finished a Mapp canister - flame went low, lower, out - so I figured: no gas. Unscrewed torch and heard hiss and smelled gas. I screwed the torch back on but don't know how to proceed. Please help.
Tried lighting again, faint hiss of gas but it wouldnt light.

Hi,
Check if the top of the torch is screwed on tight, I accidently unscrewed it a bit while switching the tank of propane... and my... it became a flame thrower. Could it also be that your canister of mapp is frozen ( this seems to happen a lot working with mapp).

I had unscrewed to torch completely and THEN the gas was escaping. It wasn't frozen.

I never got the last bit out of my tank. If it's pretty light, you are getting toward the end. Still a little escapes though. That might be your problem.

Yes but what do I do? Usually, when I remove the torch, even if there's something left, it doesn't escape.

The internal valve on the tank has probably frozen open.
You can take it outside and let it warm up, which should resolve the problem. If it doesn't, see below.
or
Take the whole kit and kaboodle outside and remove the torch head and let the remaining gas escape into the atmosphere.
