I'm driving in tomorrow. Staying at South Pointe. I'm going to see my mother in Henderson after I arrive. I'll be at the show and casino on Friday and Saturday and hope to meet up with lots of peeps. Leaving Sunday morning. I'm so looking forward to a break from daily life. This show turned out to be a godsend as far as dates are concerned. Relaxation and fun is what I'm looking forward to more than anything.

Hubby and I are driving in tomorrow, I think we're leaving around 11ish in the morning.
We should be there by 3-3:30pm. I'm taking a class with Josh Mazet on Friday and we're heading for home on Saturday some time.

Will do! Hey, did you happen to see the posters I put up for the LE supper? Just wondered if they were visible enough.

If not, here's the info once more

Sat. 7 pm at the buffet; we all end up spotting each other; maybe the first ones there can pull some tables together. Last year I think we used 3 or 4 tables...

Got there Thursday about 4 or so, took a marble class with Josh Mazet on Friday, made a quick pass through the show. I was exhausted so hubby and I grabbed a sandwich for dinenr... I did play craps a bit after I took a nap but I went to bed early anyway. Today I went and made a more thorough pass through the show and I did see the signs for the LE get together tonight... but we're home already. I got to meet Otter so I'm happy with that.

Have fun everybody!

I was at the show with StacieD but we didn't stick around for the dinner. I was staying at a hotel down the strip and Stacie blew town around 2pm. Next time I hope to get a room at the same hotel so I can stick around longer.

I had a great time and met lots of LE peeps and bought a TON of great stuff.

Brent and Otter.. what can I say? You guys are a crack up-so glad I got to meet you both and see your awesome work in person! Donna- Kerri-McDuck-Stephanie-Vickie Lee-JujeeBeads- So glad I met all of you-again your work in person is fantastic!! If I left anybody out please forgive me, my memory pretty much blows these days.

It's great to be back home but can't wait for the next one!!

Saved a big table right beside the cashier and eyeballed every one that came in. What time were you there?

I came down from my room a bit early and sat at the Island Bar and started to play some video poker with a ten dollar ticket I had left from the night before and have a glass of wine. I figured that would be gone in no time at all and then could wander down and meet everyone. I wasn't planning on eating as I just had a second late lunch at 4:30 but at least I could meet you. Well this machine I sat at decided to be generous and took my ten dollars and kept paying me back. When it hit over $300 I couldn't leave this newfound friend behind. By the time a couple of more glasses of wine were consumed it was getting late, I was tired and went back upstairs. Sorry I missed you. I had a great time at the show.

Me either. Glad that you took some of their money with you! I quit after 5 hands of PaiGow Poker. They only got me for $45.00 but I usually win in that game-this time around nobody was winning so I figured it was not meant to be this trip.

Mike Frantz got most of my $$ this time. lol

Whew...home at last! And what a show!!!

Julie - I was there at the buffet by 7:05; I hung out with the Brent/Otter crew and we searched for ya to no avail. That WAS kinda a huge line, but we went up and down and dang it, didn't see ANYBODY! Not sure how THAT happened...

I sure was happy to meet so many LE peeps, though! And all the gorgeous glass...ahh!!! Spent WAY TOO MUCH $ and totally could have killed all my plastic if I'd bought everything I wanted, but I did come home with some treasures!

StacieD...you were there? How did I miss you? Were you on the Southwest 5:10 flight into Ontario? I heard someone a few rows behind me say they were from the Temecula area, but with the turbulence I was chicken to unbuckle and take a peek to see if it was you!

Hope everyone had a great time and I'm totally planning on going back next year.

Brent, Otter, Donna, Carla, Dave & Ann, John, Keri, Malcolm Hagstrom, Mary, DebC, GlassyMom, (who am I forgetting?) - it was wonderful to meet you all in person!

I must say, though, I regret not going back to Mikey's table and grabbing more glass. Did anyone get some of that Terra2 - and have you tried it yet? See? I could have just shopped and shopped...

Hugs everyone!
De

Well that's just weird. I was there at 7 and like I said I had a big table right beside the cashier, I laid glass beads out so anyone coming up to pay to get in, would see if they were looking for anyone. But whatever. Our group had a great time visiting as well and we traded beads and just had really good bs session. Met Tillie and Jim from Carlisle and another Carlisle guy (I just lost his name dammit!) and Catharine Weaver and Laura and her DH. Was great.
Maybe next year we'll all have to get stupid hats or something so we can be spotted. lol

Brent I stopped by your booth but you were not there I guess I will have to catch you at the next show. I did get to meet Otter, Scott, Ann and Mike, I know I'm forgetting a few people....

I had a blast. It was really cool seeing all the vendors in person. I only had a few hours to shop at the show. I just wish I could of been there for a few days.

I did buy some terra2 and will compare it to the orginal stuff later this week.

Was the other Carlisle guy Don?

Maybe we missed because Julie was inside but the other group was outside. And I was in the huge line outside for a while, but nobody really knows me to recognize me Although, I guess Otter and I would recognize each other now. Maybe I was already inside by then too. weird. definitely big crazy hats next time!

De - sorry I didn't get to meet you - really wanted to meet another So Cal person, especially another murrini addict! Where in So Cal are you? I'm curious as to why you flew? Vegas was only a 4 hour drive for me, is it a lot farther for you? Or were you just avoiding the horrible return traffic on Sunday? Lucky for me the time is about the same if I go through Death Valley but there is MUCH less traffic.

Otter and Smiley, nice to meet you, and Otter you are welcome to stop by and visit if you ever get stuck going to Trona again!

Yes, Laura - I definitely wanted to avoid the traffic!!! Any I was able to get a Southwest airfare CHEAP using my hubby's frequent-flier miles I know for most So. Cal peeps, it's "either way 'round the square" time wise (when you consider driving to the airport, checking in, the flying time, trip from the airport to the hotel, etc.) but I was glad to just have a little time that I didn't have to think about anything....even if it was a flat 41 minutes in the air! That's such a silly flight...going up - going straight for about 10 minutes - going down!

I'm in the San Gabriel Valley area...only about 1 mile away from Santa Anita Race Track and the LA Arboretum...

I'm sorry Dawn... next year for sure...

We were at the buffet right before 7 and stayed til about 10 after... thought we were meeting right out front. We stood under the sign and looked and looked... I scanned the "inside" a few times trying to see where we should be... now we know... I even had a picture taken of us under the sign as proof.

Last year we all went in individually and then looked around for a 'familiar' glassy looking group. Since no one specified, guess I just thought it would happen the same this year. oops!

Yeah and I missed last year... noob mistake on my part.. sorry. I would have loved to meet up and chat with y'all... but I am glad that I got to eat at Paymon's again. Sure beats buffet food. It might be more of a hassle, but I'd like to propose a field trip next year to Paymon's... if we had a head count, we could get set up in the courtyard... seriously good food. It'll make you wanna slap your mamma!

Were is Paymon's? Like a cab ride away or walking distance? It's beginning to sound very tasty.

I am seriously considering going to this expo next year but am wondering if anyone who when this year would share how much money (outside of airfare) to do it? Not selling just staying in the hotel and taking classes. Want to know if it is totally out of scope or if there is hope for me

Glass Craft arranged for great hotel rates this year. It was I think $50 per night for Wed., Thursday. Then it jumped to around $100 per night for Friday & Saturday. I don't have my receipt out to verify exactly, but it was very reasonable. As far as classes go, they vary depending on what you want to take and from who. Come on down next year. It's always fun!
