I'm with Shawnette. Sometimes it's cheaper just to buy it, considering time and effort. Get some friends together and share.

That's identical to my crusher. I use a set of brass soil sieves to sort the frit sizes.

Having recently used up all the frit I bought, I have started making my own. I use a mortar and pestle - about 6 inches high - made of heavy metal. Using scrap rod ends, I cut small pieces off into bowl using the tool with two discs - think its called a rod cutter? Use a piece of cloth with a hole in it for the mortar to fit through to avoid flying glass.- Just pound until the size is what you want. I use three plastic/metal strainers to get a variety of sizes. I eventually end up with fine powder in the bottom of the pestle which can also be used. Its quick once you get used to the routine. No glass is wasted and I can have exactly the colour frit I would like. I use these to make my frit mixes.
