Default Marble Stand

Hello,
I have had the same thing in mind. I figured I just needed some kind of tool to make the same size impression in a big gloop of clear. I was thinking about maybe borrowing one of my wife's dapping punches and seeing how that worked

I melt a large gather of glass then press into a maria, next I punty up to the bottom of the maria and melt off the original rod leaving a bit of glass to gather up. When I have a good size ball of glass I take a dapping punch and press into the gather to make a nice cup. I break off my punty, fire polish and there you go!

I have heard the problem with glass on glass when it comes to display stands is the eventual scratches.

There are some plastic ones out there. Not classy but they work.
