Default stupid question #1

Hello my friends! Can anyone please tell me how many rods are in a kg of glass? I was looking at some gaffer...

I'm not sure but I think I've seen somewhere that there are 16-18 1 meter rods in 1 kilo.

I could go home and weigh a bunch of rods on my digital kitchen scale tonight if you want to.

well hmmm

what length rods?

If I count right there are about 23 grams per moretti 13 inch rod
1000 grams equals a kilo
So prolly between 35-45 depending on diameter and length

Kikki did the whole length and I split it into 13 inch lengths

1000/23=43.5 so we are very close in our answers!

Great and wonderful! thank you ladies! Gives me some insight. i want to take that glassblwoing class this summer or fall, damn hot here right now, and was looking at some different types of glass, and couldnt make heads nor tails of how much there might be!
