Default switching fuels

Hi all-

I am in the process of switching torches (and fuel) from a hothead on bulk propane to a cricket on natural gas. Can I use the same hose from the propane or do I need to buy a new one? I'm concerned about the residue from the propane in the hose, even though I burned it off every time...

Thanks!

Did the same on this end. Used the same red welding hose that was used on propane. Make sure that your existing welding fuel hose is "T" rated for NG/Propane.

There is a ever lingering odor from the propane. If in doubt then new.

Not possible.

Your bulk hose for the Hothead has fittings on it that are not
compatible with what you want to do.

For your continued safety please make sure you have your
Cricket properly connected to your Natural Gas line using T
grade welding hose and an inline fire check.

She is referring to a Hothead bulk tank hose, not welding hose.

Well.... Not quite true, it all depends on how bulk hose is assembled.... There are fitting and hoses out there can use standard "B" size welding hoses couplings but also connect to 1 inch disposable fitting the HH uses....

Check mcmaster.com for "propane torch hose" for examples....

I was concerned about residue, and didn't even consider fittings... Now that I take a closer look at the NG hookup, there's no way to make it work. Time for a trip to the welding store for a new hose and inline fire check.

99.99% will have the Mr. Heater hose, which as I said is not compatible.

If she were familiar with the uncommon fittings you are referring to I
doubt she would have posted here.

You want to be a bit more careful on the statements you make... Mr Heater, makes several hundred parts and combination of hoses and connectors to fit almost everyone's needs...
