Default Mystery pinks...

I have the rods lying here for years. Didn't find them spectacular. Until i made bellflowers with them, now i need more! The darker rod looks like rubino over a clear core and then encased in a translucent white. The flower is much more opaque than the pic shows. The lighter rod is a lovely shade of pink that strikes a bit in the flame. From the diameter of the rods i guess it's effetre glass.

Any ideas? And please don't tell me it's no longer available...

Striped pink 253 on the left. Dark pink 256 on the right. Both still available, but batches do vary. I have lots of the 256 pink in a gorgeous deep shade like yours, pm me if interested.

The one on the left is Striped Pink (Effetre 253) and the one on the right looks like good old Effetre Dark Pink (256). Both are completely available

Thank you all

But i don't think it's the striped pink. Striped pink is a core of rubino under edp, right? I think i had a rod of it and didn't like it. And none of the pictures i found look like my mystery rod. It's transparent pink with a thin outer layer of translucent white. Not a little bit purple. And it nearly doesn't devit.

I made more pics:

So, how about this one?
CIM Cranberry cored cane
http://www.creationismessy.com/color.aspx?id=72

Your core is not really heart-shaped, but maybe they made a love-less pull of the same cane

Definitly no CIM. The outside is white and not pink. I don't think it's Lauscha, the rod is quite thin.

Do you remember Caliente glass?? Something in my memory is saying it looks like a veiled cane they carried.

Caliente was 96, i use 104 only. And i don't know if it found its way to the german market. Tomorrow i'll visit my glass vendor and ask her. Perhaps she can solve the mystery and (hopefully!) has some of this glass...

Since it is 104, wow...I have no clue! I've been around a long time and I've never seen that before with white as the outer color. Try asking Mike Frantz. Maybe it was a really old and very limited stock.

The photo does not appear to have a clear core. Based on the description of the rod and the appearance of the flower I was certain it was the 253.

Now that I see the rod, I don't know. The core looks like bright pink pastel, but twice you say that it is transparent.

It's lovely and I'd love to know what it is.

Someone in the german forum has a rod of it with a little sticker on it. It says 250. Perhaps that helps a little *sigh*

Okay, this is Effetre 250: "Loverboy", and so not it.

http://dragonjools.blogspot.com/2010...lover-boy.html

Here is Vetrofond 250, a gray color:

http://www.morettiandmore.com/index....roducts_id=199

Lauscha SNT-250, a transparent amethyst:

http://lauscha.heatherkellyglass.co....let-dark-7-9mm

Are you absolutely sure it is 104? If it was given to you as a gift, then you really can't be too sure unless they know exactly where they got it from. One of the reasons I think it is 96 COE is that Effetre, Vetrofond, and Lauscha do not make a translucent white like that. Well, maybe Lauscha does.

I would contact Gail from ggglass.com and see if she recognizes it.

I think I found it.

http://www.ombos.net/shop/index.php?...product=280250

Looks like it is a version of Lover Boy called Rosa Quarz.

Let us know Steffi if I'm right.

Still waiting to see what that left-hand one is, but I made a core of opal raspberry, cased in cranberry pink, cased in heffalump, that I kinda like.

OP has stated that the center is clear.

People are mistaking the light reflecting off of the rubino through the clear core which makes it look pink. Also the rubino is making the outer casing look pink but OP states it is a translucent white. So what the picture shows and what we should be looking for are two different rods I think.

Frantz Art Glass shared this photo of Lover Boy by Genea on Facebook. Looks like batches of 250 can seriously vary.

The mystery is solved. It's an old lauscha color from 2007. They did not pull much. Less than 2 Kilo according to my vendor. As if that wasn't clear from the beginning...*sob*

Thank you all for your research.
