Default Annealing boro in Olympic HB89E with collar

I bought this as my first kiln for annealing boro pendants and maybe some other glass/clay stuff. Sprang for the Genesis controller and bead collar.

With the bead collar in place the pendants will be below the elements and the max temperature will be lower. How would I account for that in setting up a boro annealing program? Expecting to have to experiment and maybe map it out with cones but it would be great to have some advice to start. I emailed Olympic (Great Kilns) and will post what I learn.

Got access to a digital pyrometer? Place it where the beads will actually sit and fire up the kiln to what you think is the right annealing temp.

You just reminded me that I have a thermocouple in my junk box, and a decent Fluke DMM! I will check out the sensor type and it's range to make sure I don't fry it.
