Default Kugler Crystal Clear Leaded Cane

I recently purchased some Kugler Crystal Clear leaded cane. I looks beautiful. Before I use it can someone tell me more about this glass ad why the lead is so important. Is that what makes it so wonderfully clear??

Lead oxide is used as a flux in high lead glass/crystal. Fluxes lower the melting point of the batch. The lead also shifts the refractive index higher and creates more dispersion (bending the light more sharply as it passes through the glass and separating the wavelengths of light) more than regular soda lime glass does. That's why lead crystal looks so bright and sparkly when it's faceted.

Are there any health concerns related to working with leaded cane? How about wearing the beads made from it?

Sounds like something I want. What's the COE and where do I buy it?
