Piranha acting weird; won't mix at face
Hey there-
I am not even sure how to describe my problem, but I have a piranha that's been working fine (although, recently I did upgrade to an M15 oxycon) until yesterday.
Now, when I try to light it, it won't mix at the face of the torch-- it's like the oxygen is "blowing" the propane flame away from the face. (ie, it's a couple inches of "blank" and then flame after.)
The only way to get the flame to the face is to turn off the oxygen knob completely; as soon as I turn it on just the littlest bit, it blows the flame away.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance for any help or ideas!

Sounds like your oxycon is blowing air instead of oxygen.

Squid- you're brilliant.
Switched to old oxycon and everything is right as rain. Back down to M5, but at least it's mixing!
Thanks a bunch!

Lisa....
Tanked O2 can do the same thing when pressure settings are too high.
If you turn down the M15.... low enough where the flame is at the face of the torch, then you call add pressure and the flame should stay at the face.
The reason I would "test" this is because you switched from a 5 lpm unit to a 10... which is going to have more volume. All may be fine, things just may need adjusted. I would hate to see you send a unit back if it is really not damaged.
Hope this helps... and feel free to PM me any time with questions.
