Come Discover the Wonders of Glass with Libby Leuchtman at Glass Sorbet in Houston, Texas.
In this two day class students will use Moretti 104, Double Helix Clio, Kalypso and Reichenbach 104 multi-color. Students will learn unique ways that will make you think, “Is that boro?”
The first day of the class covers mastering the complex disk. Using a large hole mandrel learn how to build color on color making stunning and complex designs. Students will then move to “off mandrel” work and cover several techniques like color shifting canes, murrini’s, and soft glass implosions and the window beads. Students will then use these techniques and apply them to pendants.
The second day will continue off mandrel work starting with the off mandrel flower.
Next it’s the Pod Bead and elongated Pod. This day will also cover working with silver glass and learning the secrets to achieving brilliant colors.
This class is loaded with information. Students will receive handouts covering each technique with tips, tricks and reminders of what was covered in class. Class Times: 10 am - 6 pm. Saturday and Sunday. Lunch is provided both days. Two day workshop is $400. April 12-13, 2014
