Default CFM Conversion

Could someone tell me what this translates into for CFMs for ventilation requirements for lampworking? I saw a window fan that had this specification as its CFM measurement.

CFM@.5 ESP : 2504 CFM

Thanks.

the CFM is 2504 the .5 ESP is the external static pressure. The external static pressure may be caused by adding a filter or screen, or can be the enclosure of the fan.

So once the power of this fan is enclosed would the CFM add up to 2500?

I'm a little confused to what you're asking? (Also, you might get more responses in the safety room.)

Usually you start with your hood opening - let's say its 2' by 2' = 4 sq ft with side baffles (this by the way is a little small - but some people work in that area), the current accepted rule is 125 cfm per sq ft of face opening so you would need a minimum of a 500 cfm fan for that sq ft area.

Highly recommend you read through the safety section - there's tons and tons of info.
