You can encase it with clear first. Then put the silver on the clear. The silver fumes any glass around it. But it is more visible on lighter colors, pinks and whites. Maybe vetro cool white? It's almost a blue hue (i have not tried it)

Yes Jaci, I encased the white with clear and it still fumed, although not as bad. I kind of like how it looks but not what Im looking for.

I also thought about using a pale color or maybe even an alabaster.???????

Is there a clear that doesnt react with silver?

This is definately turning into a challenge or obsession.
I need to make a fairly simple bhb bead. White with four silver dots. Thats it!

Easy. . . . Right?. . . . . . .??????

If you encase the white with either DH Zephyr clear or transparent pale aqua, it will not react so much. Hope that helps!

YES YES YES!!!!! IT WORKED!!!

Thanks for the info.

I made a few small "test" beads just to see what happened. I used a reallly pale aqua (it looks almost clear). It looks like a very light encasing is needed. Stuck 'em in the blanket. I'm gonna try making some "real" ones in a few. Hopefully they'll stay nice after being annealed.

Thanks again you saved my A$$.

My next suggestion would have been to try the blue you probably used I use t080. I just plum forgot before!!! glad you figured it out.

FYI alabaster and opilano colors react more than the regular colors with silver. They fume something awful!

The other way to go would be to do your thing as is, w/ the fuming problem and then give it a light etch.
