Black and pink beads
Hello
My daughter asked me for several black and pink beads. She wants large dounuts with melted in dots or lines. Easy Peasy Right? Not... Either the Black webs or sucks in the pink. I have tried intense black, vetrofont black, hades, tuxedo, gelly pink naked, gelly pink incased in cim trans pink, bubble gum pink, flower pink some of which were incased in ruby gold. Oh in some I laid down a white stripe then the pink. All are crap well actually CRAP.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank You Cathy

Try Reichenbach deep black. I sometimes use effetre black and then encase it in Reichenbach deep black to economize.

Thinly encase the base before adding the dots? Or maybe on a black base, put a transparent pink dot under the opaque pink?

I just made a stripe bead with black, white, and pink; I also have some pink beads with black polka dots. I will see if I can post pics when I get home. I can say that there was a tutorial I followed to do the stripe beads - I'll see if I can find a link to that too...
And just an FYI, I only use CiM Hades for my black and various pinks in 104, the darkest of which is Reich 104 Opal Raspberry...
ETA: Here's a link to the general description of how I did the stripes: http://www.lampworketc.com/forums/sh...encased+stripe

I made zebra beads with a core of vetro white with dense black stripes a layer of rubino then quickly encase in clear. They turned out very hot pink.

Somebody earlier this year posted some really pretty pink/black beads. Some chinese had copied not only her beads but her flipping photo as well.
But back to your needs...they were really pretty beads! And I think she said how she'd made them, you know, since they were copied already!

I love the Reichenbach opal raspberry. Good reliable pink. I've used it with Hades and Tuxedo with good results for dots beads.

Oops, sorry for the delay in posting again - gul!
I will have to wait until the morning light to take a few photos of the striped bead I made yesterday with the Reich Opal Raspberry, but here's some older ones of Pink, Black and White) beadies in polka dots with a few Rose Murrini sprinkled in - I love these colors together! The White bead has the dots below the encasing; the Pink Bead has Hades dots atop the clear.
Black is CiM Hades
Pink is Gelly's Sty Pink
White is plain old Moretti
I used Lauscha 104 Soft for my Clear encasing

Here's a couple snaps of the bead(s) I made on Sunday - the stripe one is done on a base of White, with the dots added as first Black (Hades), then a drop of dichro atop that, then Pink (Reichenbach 104 Opal Raspberry). Then I melted them almost flat, added the encircling (4 wraps, I believe) of clear, and the slow melt down/spread into stripes technique in the tutorial link I posted earlier:
How are you doing on this? Have you found any colors that are working for you?

Kandice Seeber makes some of the yummiest pink beads, and she has a tutorial as well:
