Default glow in the dark frit/powder...?

A friend gave me a sample pack of this stuff. So is it frit or powder...what is it? I don't even know where he got it. The colors are cool but it is weird to work with, to say the least. Maybe now I know why he wanted to get rid of it

So anyways, what do I do with it? Any experience with it? I thought I could just roll it on a hot bead then encase....but noooo, it has a mind of its own.

Thanks....Kristin

It depends. IF it doesn't look like it is melting in then it is GID powder and you will need to mix it up with the glass to get it to work properly. Also temps above 2000F will destroy the GID property.

I am able to roll my bead and then encase, but my encasing glass has to be HOT. My favorite approach is to create a bit of a valley where I want the powder and carefully sprinkle it in before encasement. I like the more vibrant swirly glow.

The powder isn't glass so it won't behave like powdered glass does. You can get a gather really hot, roll in in powder, encase and pull stringer. You can also do as mentioned above, get your gather really hot, roll in powder and encase. If you try to melt it in on the surface you'll likely burn it out.
