Default Need kiln help (broken element)

at the end of the last school year I bought an extremely old (20-25 years) metal enameling kiln from one of my art teachers to anneal with. Had a broken pyrometer and an infinity switch, but it worked and the price was right ($25 dollars) it isnt pretty but it worked and i didnt have the money to buy a brand new jenken or anything!

It worked for perfectly for half a year, at least until last night -- after working for around 6-7 hours (garaging all my work while lampworking) the element failed and my jenken controller read "tCL" indicating that something was wrong with the element. I very very gently removed the element and it's housing from the kiln after unplugging it and then the element from the housing, the element was very brittle with age and i saw where the original break was (then i broke it a few more times getting the rest of it out!)

The kiln is an Amaco Metal Enameling Kiln model 63e (or more recently 62-efc) and I cant, for the life of me, find replacement elements on amaco's site and i need help!

Im aware that the element is a Kanthal A-1 element, but i dont know what gauge -- because with the variations of the newer kilns it could be 14 or 16, and i also dont know where i could buy it.

Can someone please help me! The way the element was configured it looks like i need two of them... ?

A search of internet will shoe up several manufacturers for replacement kiln elements ( sort of generic)....

First choice would be Mike (Glassfreek)....

http://theglasshive.com/

http://www.joppaglass.com/elements/mainelpg.html
http://intheyear2525.ecrater.com/pro...hp?pid=2073630
http://www.kilnelements.com/
http://www.bigceramicstore.com/suppl...n-elements.htm
http://www.hotkilns.com/easy-fire-elements.html

GOOGLE search turned up the above.... Think the Joppa glass site is most informative...
