Default Lampworking book suggestions

For a beginner, what would be the ONE book you would recommend that they should most definitely have?

It is kind of pricey, but Corina Tettinger's book, "Passing the Flame" is excellent.

Another good one, less expensive and maybe even in your library, is Cindy Jenkins "Making Glass Beads"

I found " Contemporary Lampworking" Vol 1 and Vol 2 by Bandu Dunham to be great books.

"Beads of Glass" by Cindy Jenkins is also excellent, it has a lot of step by step "how to's" which were very helpful when I was starting out.

I will have to vote for Passing the Flame also though the other books mentioned are excellent too.

My advice would be: don't stop at one book! All the authors have a slightly different approach, and different tips to offer. In addition to the books mentioned, I like Kimberly Adams 'Complete Book Of Glass Beadmaking' (that was my first), and Claudia Trimbur-Pagel's "Glass Bead Trip'.

Also '1000 glass beads', for inspiration!

Speedslug (Phill) posted this for uploading an image yesterday in the Bathroom

Click the "Go Advanced" and then type in some words describing you picture.

Then click the paper clip symbol above the -typed entry box- next to the white smiley face.

A " Manage Attachments" box will come up.

Click the first "browse" button and when the computer puts up a file listing direct that listing to folder where you are keeping the picture you are trying to send and then click the picture or the name of the picture you want to send.

That will take you back to the "Manage Attachments" box where you will see a written word -path- showing the directions to the file you are trying to send.

Then you need to click the upper "upload image" button.

This next part is confusing but don't let it throw you off.

The last click you made will dump you back to the -typed entry box- but it won't show anything at all besides the words you had already entered.

Now scroll down to the Preview Post button and click that.
Your picture should now be visible on the top of the page.

Once you click "post" it should show up in the thread.

But just FYI, if you want an easy program (free) to do simple stuff to photos, Irfanview is a free and pretty simple one.

Another vote for Passing the Flames, if you only get one. I agree with others that reading or watching others can give you different perspectives.
