Default Finally Made My Own Hot Fingers

Yep. I've had the free tut from here http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...fingers+marble for some time and I finally got around to making them. Easy peasy. And I had everything I needed at home already.

A couple of differences : I just used a nut to push up and down on the mandrels instead of a collar "thingie". I used 5 mandrels instead of only 3.

As you can see, it works like a charm. I may still cut down the top part of the mandrels yet. They look a little long. Saved me a bundle.

ETA: So there is no confusion - this was posted some time ago on LE in this thread. http://lampworketc.com/forums/showth...ht=hot+fingers

Let me be the first to congratulate you on a fantastic job! It looks great! I personally have no need for a hot fingers, but yours definitely looks top notch.

Very very nice! I may need to do this too - I was pricing hot fingers and they were $45!

Good job and thanks for posting!

I have saved so many little tidbits of info and freebies from this forum over the years that have come in so very handy it's just incredible ! This little tut is just one of MANY. I must say again - Thanks to all that have made my beadmaking life a little bit easier. I love reposting or bringing stuff back to the top when they may have been long forgotten and when the need comes up now and again.

Drew Fritts has a article on making marble tweezers. Same function - different style.

I've been making my own for years but I've never thought of using a nut as a slider. Mine were a ring of twisted metal and not very easy to push back and forth. Excellent idea !
