Default Minor or Mid Range on 5litre Oxy Con - Help please!

Hi and thanks in advance for opinions and assistance given.

I am about to purchase a new torch and have had differing advice from retailers as to the ability to run a torch PROPERLY on a 5 ltr oxy con. While all agree an 8 ltr is better than a 5 ltr, some say a 5ltr is just fine. Others say there is no way anything less then 10 ltr should be used. These opinions are in discussions with the Minor Torch or equivalent.

Was also wondering if anyone has run a 5ltr with a mid range torch and how it worked?

I see many threads here where people are using the 5ltr oxy con so I am somewhat confused.

Thanks again for your help.

I would strongly consider getting the new GTT Cricket if you are looking for THE best torch for a single 5 lpm oxycon.

The minor will run fine on a 5 lpm oxycon (the cricket is better), but I don't believe a midrange will run very well.

See these threads about the cricket:

The Minor will run okay on a 5 liter machine, but nowhere near 100%.

A MidRange won't run well at all off a 5 liter machine.
