Default Nipper Container

Hi all. I belong to a few fused glass forums, and got an email about how to make this container attachment for your glass nippers. I'm making one tomorrow!!! No more murrini on the floor! And it's free!!!

Oh, snap! If you know me and murrini...can you imagine how much easier the last few years - and tens of thousands of slices - would have been? You KNOW I'm going to make me one of these!

Thanks so very much for posting this awesome link for us!

I'm glad you all like it. A few days ago I was cutting some of my DH murrini, and of course 2 or 3 went on the floor and were lost forever. Then I got the email from Paul Tarlow at Helios. Kismet.......

On the rare occasion I actually sweep my floor I'm amazed at all of the murrini chips that got away that end up in my dust pan. I will have to see if I can modify it to work with Japanese nippers I have. What a wonderful idea! Thanks for sharing!

I like this idea, too. I've been nipping inside a tall plastic container (quart size soup to go container), but being a gadget lover, I think I'll go and tinker one together.
thanks

I think one of the short squatty prescription containers would work too. Now if the blooming things would just break off straight. (sigh)

Great idea. I'm actually thinking of using something with a more funnel shaped top - like a Gatorade bottle. With my luck the little beggars would bounce off the bottom of a straight sided container and still end up all over the floor.

I tried the freezer bag but kept getting little cuts all over my hands. There are glass chips that fly off. I would say it's best to cut murrini in a workshop area where shoes are usually worn and then container may have advantages over the freezer bag to avoid the cuts from the glass chips. Anyone tried both methods ?
