Didn`t know they had blue or black, where do we go to find out what other colors they have? I think there are only 5 listed on the website, maybe 6.

Yep, I asked them by email if they had blue, and they had a medium blue one.

So just ask them.

I'll see if I can simulate one for you... brb

I just did this super quick, so it's a rough approximation. But, it should give you an idea of what it would look like (next to the standard purple):

Hi Kbinkster,
Thank you so much for going to all the trouble to show me the 2 torches.
I know that the black is a matt colour, with your help I now know that I'm going to order a sparkling purple
Thank you very much for your help, are you selling the Cricket too?

Help! I can't seem to find a neutral flame on the Cricket. I have a rod of Amazon Night and I've now seen some fabulous colors but I thought if the flame was neutral, it wouldn't change color.

Anyway, I'm using 1/4 PSI NG and the Regalia. I've tried setting the Regalia at all sorts of different settings from 5 to 8. The only time that I thought I had a neutral flame based on the Amazon Night rod, it was down to what I thought looked like a nice, hissy, pinpoint O2 flame.

It's tricky on NG, because it can look like a neutral fame, but not be. Try running your candles shorter and without any yellow on the tips of the candles. Also try working in different parts of the flame.

Does it make any difference what I set the Regalia on?

If you are working boro, I would recommend you set it at 10 LPM just so you would have the oxygen available if you need it. The machine will read "10" on the display, but it won't be putting that out unless the oxygen valve on the torch is open enough to let it through.

I'm working boro ok. It's more that the soft glass is getting scorched and scummy.

And in both cases, I feel like I'm getting plenty of O2 -- it is just my fuel situation is so limited. But I'm still not ready to leave the convenience of NG for propane. I guess I'm wondering how to find a balance of the O2 for the limited NG. I was wondering last night if the Cricket is just too O2 efficient for my set-up

How close to the face of the torch are you working?

I'm running on 1/4 PSI NG and one concentrator and I had some trouble finding the neutral flame too but I think I have it now. I'm running with candles about 1/2 inch long and no yellow showing. When I think I have it I turn the NG back 1/4 turn or the oxygen up 1/2 a turn and its neutral. I'm also working further out than I did on the minor. On a minor I was usually working about 3 inches out but now I'm closer to 5 inches out. Another major difference from the minor is the radiant heat around the obvious blue flame. I have to keep my beads about 1 inch below the blue flame to keep them warm but not "drippy". Hope this helps!

I was working Bullseye and I was probably about 4-6 inches out in the flame.

Thanks for the help. I'll give this a try. I'll have to try and get a better idea of how long my candles are.

I'm pretty much moving from a MiniCC to the Cricket. I also got a Betta last month right before the Cricket was announed. But I only used the Betta once. The Cricket flame is significantly different from the MiniCC. I wanted a more focused flame for boro work because I found the MiniCC to be very fluffy on NG. I like the Cricket flame. It is radiant without being excessively fluffy. And the pinpoint flame on the Cricket is vastly superior to the MiniCC pinpoint. But I'll probably switch the Betta back in this weekend to test drive it a bit more to see what I think.

Thanks again for your helpful hints

Beckah, maybe it would help to set the Regalia to 5 LPM, set your candles to about 3/8", and work about 4" from the face and adjust from there. Instead of using Amazon Night to test for your flame chemistry, try a piece of your BullsEye that you know is sensitive. Orange tends to reduce easily. See where in the flame is the best area to work.

I was never able to get Amazon Night to not show a reduction flame when I tried it with my minor even though my 2 oxycons both tested very well for purity, so I gave up on making that my test.

Thanks for that info. Maybe I'll pull out some 104 and try some of that.

If you have Triton, I have found that it is pretty sensitive and is a good one to use.
