So it has been awhile since I have posted pictures because I have been doing allot of experimenting on my new torch. This broach is something I melted before Christmas and finally got all the components to put it together It can be worn as a broach or if the chain is attached it can be worn as a necklace.

Gee Deb, beautiful ensemble, love all the juicey colors you got out of the tiny beads too. Tell me what you think about the Bravo flame.....

Well Cathy I am liking what its been doing. The inner flame is being run on two 5 lpm concentrator which in my opinion is not quite enough oxy. The outer is run on tanked oxy and I have only put two small 'c' tanks through it. But I really need some more time on this torch before I feel I can give an informed opinion. All I know is it is way hotter than the lynx I was using. I am waiting on getting a bigger oxy generator as well as a home fill to fill my own tanks should be up and running in a couple of weeks then you may not hear from me for awhile as I will be trying to melt all the glass I have stashed away.

George... love your Baby airtraps, how kool is that. Photography is so amazing, must have been a very nice camera too.

Deb T. , thanks for your honest answer on the Bravo flame. I'll be waiting for a follow-up on your oxygen set-up, with hopefully pics.
Erik (Signguy) just a brief shout-out to you for sending me the info on how to run the hoses on a Bravo to a Beth. foot pedal. Your such a big help and a gentleman.

I bet some people think photographers LOVE that phrase. Sort of like if someone were to see some of your best, most skillfully made glass and said, wow you must have a very nice torch. Having a nice camera is helpful (the right tool for the job always makes the job easier) but the skill is what matters.

So interesting (and true) Chris, 'cause that's exactly what the photographer of that piece said to me when I asked what kind of camera he uses!

Sorry Chris if I insulted you, it was not intentional. I have been playing around with a105 mm Micro on a Nikon D7000, and more or less was curious what equipment was used.

You didn't insult me. I melt glass. Think of it as sensitivity training.

Hey Wicked, those are some very cool archeological finds. I must say, The weaponry came out great, and that dabber shield is nothing short of sweet. How did you get the woodgrain effect? What is the specific purposes of each piece in the set?

thank you, glad you like it!

deb, for reference, the spear is 24cm tall (about 9 1/2") and the shield 6cm diameter (about 2 1.2")

Harold, but no, thank you, your work never ceases to delight me and the new work (new to me, anyway), which reminds me of paper marbling, is expecially outstanding.

metalbone, all the weapons are dabbers and should be selected according to which opponent you're facing The shield had a spiked boss which fits into a second marble base as in this image. Funnily, the armature took me about as long to construct as the other pieces put together but I know what I'm about now, so if I make another similar set, it shouldn't take as long, hehe. For the shield I just used NS Nile ... often maligned and made fun of, but I'd put it right up there as one of my favourites for certain uses.

While this set is completely utilitarian, it's intended more as a display piece for special occasions or occasional use rather than a day to day item, however that is up to the owner

here's the stand with only the weapons and no shield and a pic of the shield in place as a dish.

I really do need to get familiar with warcraft....

On the nile, is it basically just striped and the wood grain comes out naturally as it is melted in?
