Default Viking Knit Question

If you want to make a long VK, such as a necklace, do you join more wire on halfway through, or do you start with uber long wires? I would think the answer would be to start with uber long wires, but wow...they are really long! And they tend to bounce around and almost hit one in the eyes!
Help....! =)

You join wires.

Have to run but do a quick search on youtube and bet you can find a vid of how to.

I better check the vid because I actually have joined wires and mine always looks like I did just that....you can tell where the join occurred.
Thanks, I'll check it out.

Are you leaving the tails short, and tucking them in?
Often the seam will be less visible once you pull them through the draw plate.
Changing wire material will add visual intrest, in expencive craft wire or floral wire works well for pratice.

The way I was taught, your join is in the center of your wires and should not show. It's been a (long!) while since I've done any but this is what I remember.
