Default What's going on with TAG?

You'll have to pardon me if this has been discussed (I did do a search) but is TAG discontinuing 104 glass?

I was looking on the TAG website and they only have two 104 glasses listed (and it's been that way for a long time) and I see that Frantz and Mountain Glass Arts don't have a whole lot listed. I am just curious as to what's going on.

ABR Imagery has a bunch of TAG 104 listed on their site under "Elvis soft TAG". I don't know if they're all in stock, but they are listed.

Yes, this is what I was told. I'm getting really whiney, I think they need to have a 104 break and make more!

FlameDame carries 104 TAG, too. Some are seconds, which they say aren't perfectly pulled, but they seem pretty perfect to me!

Thanks for asking! It's true, we have sidelined the soft glass for the time being, as we are totally inundated with boro orders right now. Good news, though - we are about to undertake another expansion so we can bring back more low-yield colors like the 104. We do have some odd shaped rods of 1st quality 104 in some colors here, and some seconds which have actual flaws. For the colors, the flaw is most often bits of undissolved silver. In the Clarity it's air bubbles. Call me at TAG if you want to know what we have. ~Jenny@TAG, 503-482-5475.

Jenny, I am glad TAG is going to produce 104 again. If you may remember, we met over a rod of TAG 104 I sincerely believe that the TAG striking and reducing 104 was the best "special" 104 I used to use. Along with the amazing effects TAG 104 had, one of the best qualities was, well, the quality. Consistent quality, thoroughly tested before hitting the market so we were always provided a beautiful, stable glass.

If you guys were not going to sell 104 again I was afraid I might have to auction off my old TAG 104 stash!!
