Default I have a borrowed Wildcat, can buy a Lynx

I'm almost ready to start lampworking. I have everything I need except for fuel at this point. The torch I have is a borrowed Wildcat.

My goals with LWorking are:
- Beads
- Small marbles

for now.
- Larger Boro marbles

later. Maybe waaaay later, as in a couple years.

I've read some threads on here about these torches including this recent thread:
Lynx vs. Wildcat

Since I am new to the art, I don't want to spend a ton of cash until I know I'm going to stick with it. Since I definitely need a fuel source and I've read a Wildcat will run off of an Oxycon, I'm looking at getting one of those. It appears to me that the Lynx will need 2 Oxycons because of the 2 oxygen inputs. Is this true or can you run them off of one Oxycon with a splitter? Can you run the Lynx with just one oxygen feed and then add the second later if you want?

Thanks, folks. I'm sooooo close to melting some glass and I'm getting pretty excited.

Hi Brian, welcome to the glass addiction!

The Lynx doesn't need 2 oxycons, as it doesn't have 2 oxygen inputs. It has a 3rd knob that you can further adjust the flame with.

I have an M20, which is enough to run the Lynx. Seems like plenty of oxygen and in the limited times I've melted boro, it's definitely hot and penetrating enough.

Hope that helps
