The flame temperature of an oxygen propane flame is the same regardless of the source of propane.
However, that being said there could be one difference. With a 20 pound tank most set the regulator at 5 PSI. With a 500 gallon or so tank, the pressure out of the regulator for house appliances may be set at 1/2 to 1 PSI.
A torch will work under these conditions but one will loose the ability to use a higher pressure when it is either needed or desired. Also note, some torches are recommended for use at higher pressures both for fuel and oxygen.
Basically, the more fuel that is avaialble the greater the number of BTU's delivered to the glass within torch specifications.
However, depending on local building codes, it could be possible to plumb in a separate line that would not exceed 10 PSI from your existing tank for your lampworking needs.
