Default brown flame???

why am i getting a brown flame. if i add more oxygen it goes back to blue. premix 6a htc3 tip.

You may have gunk in the lines or something in the torch.

how is your ventilation? i've been told that an off-color flame could indicate a build up of noxious fumes in your workspace.

i think its the lines old r rated hoses getting new one soon.hopeful not ventlation problem.does it right from the start.

well yea...if your hoses aren't T grade...there's your issue.

its not the hose or torch. try em at some ones shop no brown flame.maybe regs.just cleaned arrester.

using anything but T grade hose is asking for trouble. if this R hose isn't deteriorating as of now, give it time it will.

R is good for acetylene and o2. Propane and some Mapp gas will break it down into a gummy mess over time. and even with O2/acetylene is wears out after just a few years.
The gummy rubber is a paint to clear from your torch.

T is good for all your fuel options and tends to last a lot longer.
climate, UV exposure, and other environmental factors can shorten the life of the line.
I try and do a visual inspection everything I change tanks and replace as needed.
If the local welding supply does not have it in stock ask them to order it in.

t grade hoses on the way from mountain glass. havent hooked every thihg up yet.can your regs do this to your flame
