Think I'm gonna mix the rest of this down. I really like the results coming at almost every stage of striking. I'll call this color "Water of Morado" sweet score!

That color is superb for a jelly. Almost reminds you of the deep fish/creatures that glow in the dark.

This one has stardust in the mix, and although you can't see it, it really shimmers!

^^^^ yeah most people aren't aware of the range of color you can get just by using your kiln properly. A lot of the time the best colors come after 2 or 3 cycles some (like this awesome one) have a ridiculous range

I run up to about 1100 for 10-15 minutes before crashing. If I want to immediately repeat I wait for it to crash to 500 then back up to 1040 for about 20 min then up to 1100. Sometimes I do what I like to call a "severe strike" where I bring it up higher for less time. 1150 for 10 min 1200 for 7-8 min 1250 for 5 min. However the ones pictured here never made it past 1120.

Then I guess after striking you run it through a normal annealing cycle?
So cool thanks for sharing the pictures of the color change.

yup anneal normally after. I think my demo as GS first day will be using this color, then we will leave it in the back of one of the kilns and check back with it after each day. Color changing glass (not like Bob's )

Rockin out John! Awesome, thanks for all the pics. I used to leave striking color beads in the back of the kiln for days, and just check them until I got what I liked. Then I started to learn about cycles, ramps, holds, and the magic the lies within there! Great knowledge to have, and so kind of you to share.

So do you run it up to the 1100 from garage temp then crash to room temp, then run an anneal from cold?
