Default Has Anyone tried the New Metallic Black?

I just got my first 1/2 pound of this and lit up the torch last night to try it out? Who needs food when there is new glass in the house???

I found it like painting with silver....instant gratification!!

They aren't out of the kiln yet....am I missing something here??
My husband had to come over to see what I was so excited about!!
He actually asked if I was having a sexual experience!!! (I guess I can be a little noisy!)

Am I the only person here who LOVES this stuff or do I have a rude awakening whe I go to the kiln tonight???

Susan

It's an Effetre color. I've read and seen good things about it, but haven't tried it yet.

i have some, its nice but not always consistent. Sometimes it looks great and sometimes the silver just refuses to come out.

metallic black is my current fave too...

these are some of the beads i've made...it's very similar imo to dark silver plum, but a lot easier to work into that matte metallic! YUM!

I'm really loving this glass too at the moment.

Here are some earrings I made.

The darker ones made completely with metallic black and then pulled stringers to do decorative scroll work on the green ones.

I have found it hard to work with. Even working it very cool, it pits like crazy for me. I have tried just using it as small raised dots, and they even pit. I'd love some input...any advice?

Thanks!

Ditto, same problem here. I've had it for awhile but just tried it last night. At first I thought I was burning it. I wonder if there is a way to get rid of the pits in it?

I have been really stingy with it and have been putting thin layers of it or stringers and melt in...no pits at all....I work on a mini-cc and get my beads quite hot. Actually I have problems with reactions from Silver glass. This worked like magic!!! I made more tonight and can't wait to make more. Great beads (give me more idea's why don't ya!)...

I have found if you adjust your flame a little more reducing all the bubbling with stop. Those are LOVELY beads!!

So what's the difference between this and dark silver plum? They look alike.
