Default resetting strikers without losing shape

how does one best reset a double helix striking color after encasing lightly in clear without losing shaping? resetting requires so much heat, i am struggling to figure this out...

Default

I reset then shape as it cools down, so no help from me. Sometimes I do reset just a small section, so the rest of the bead stays in shape, or if I have a different core I can reset just the top layer of DH without too much distortion for many shapes.
