Lori - or anyone who can get their head around this...- your help would be appreciated - how best to keep track of our glass list? You did a great job, Phyllis, but I fear it's going to get more confusing as we go along...ya know?

I thought of removing what I took,(with a note of what it was-and the note could be removed by the next person and their note added) and it would have kept it of a list of what is in the box..Otherwise the page is just going to get more confusing.

mmmm some of those rods are definately yummy!! I will be on pins and needles until it makes it way to Texas!
I am thinking to keep things straight that maybe a CD R/W or DVD R/W could be in with the package and updated each time something gets taken out or put in.

OK let me explain how we do it. The person takes the list from the person that they got the box from
First go through the list and back space off the things the last person took they will be the things that have (taken) next to it.
Then take off the works (added) to the items that they added but don't take off the items just the added works so when you do your trades people will know what your adds were not the person before you.
Then add the things you added. I have everything in bundles so if you add things then you put it in the right bundle I would say the same would be with these bundles too if they are packaged that way. If it is done that way all the rods should be in the package.
Be sure to put (added) next to the things you added. also if you take something out put (taken) next to what you took out if everything is in the bundles you should be able to find everything in that bundle and mark it off as you take them out of the box.
If everything is in bundles and then the adds are put in the bundle or a new one added it would need to be added to the list.
When I got the box what I did is get the list on screen and as I open each bundle I mark them on the computer screen as I checked them back into me there was very little missing so this system really works if everyone make sure that the last persons glass is taken off of the list and keep them in the bundles. You can also do this as you figure out what you want to take.
It just goes from person to person this way. I will show a example on how I do it. If this is more confusing let me know I will try to explain better

It should not get confusing at all if people keep things in wrapped marked bundles then it people look at the list they know exactly what is in that bundle. If people add to the correct bundle then it works great or if they have something new then start a new bundle.
But if people just list there adds it will get confusing because no one will know where to find anything in the box.
Take a look at the geo box if anyone wants to see how it works better. I have been really happy with this system and have had no people not being fair with there trades.

The only problem I find with this is when you have people that don't do fair trades or take things from the box you would not be able to see it. Having it posted everytime keeps people fair when they know others are looking at what they are doing

Ooooh. Geez Lori - thanks for taking all that time to explain...
So things did start out kind of in bundles...sorry folks, but we won't be able to abide just by this...the way things are packed, well - let's not worry about the bundles, but this part from Lori (and added to a wee bit by me), broken down into a couple of easy steps seems really manageable for everyone:
1) The person takes the list from the person that they got the box from
2) First go through the list and back space off (delete) the things the last person took they will be the things that have (taken) next to it....and change the quantity of rods of that color still in our Box
3) Then take off the words "added" to the items that they added but don't take off the items just the word "added", so when you do your trades people will know what your adds were not the person before you.
4) Then add the things you added.
Thanks for everyone's cooperation - Have fun with the goodies Kristy!

Val,
The next person could put them in the bundles (if they have time) of the colors you have them listed as. Then you can find the colors you are looking at.
You did better at explaining this for sure.

My weekend was great, but I'm glad its over for sure. I taught a Master level seed beading class on Saturday, and in intermediate soft glass lampworking class on Sunday. Today, I get to hop on a plane and GO HOME! I've been gone for two weeks, and can't wait to see my honey and the puppies.

I was just looking at the list the other day thinking that I hope that this and that color make it to me. I better start going though my stash and get it ready I really like seeing the list. Val, I am really glad you decided to do it like this it is so much more fun to see what is in the box and what people are putting in.

Hey Hannah and Christy-twin ~ LONG time no speaka to you chicas!! Christy, honey, sugar-plum - there's tons to see and play with - have fun exploring around, "stranger"....and of course you KNOW you can e-mail me with any ?'s you might have. I'll do my utmost to help, though I'd love if you would just hop a plane and come play with me in my Studio.
Char, Hannah is right (as usual) - I do my best at mapping out a route which works geographically from coast to coast. This round we're moving West to East. Being as our Box is now in WA, it shouldn't be too far down the road that it'll be hopping over to you in OK!
We should be hearing from Lori pretty soon with her trades, but since I'm posting, I thought I'd let you in on a little secret about who is going to be getting our Box filled 'o goodies next.
A little birdy told me that it's going to be going to.....
Kathy aka Birdy!

OMG!!!
What an awesome surprise -- haven't had time to check this thread in ages...and now I find out that it's headed my way! Yippee!!!
The past 2 months have been massively yukky, so this is just the shot of wonderfulness that I need. My DH had an accident with a small chainsaw, and did nasty stuff to his right hand - he's right handed. Have been so busy taking care of him that there hasn't even been much torch time.
He's doing much better now, except he just got the flu, and being next on the list for this box of glassy-goodness is great sign that life is back on a better track again.
Thanks so much for letting me join! WOW!!! Now I've got to go find good stuff to put in the box.
Blessings,
Birdy
