Default Implosion Color Question

Hello!
I'm new here

I'd like to make implosion beads / pedants
with reichenbach multicolor or something like
Double Helix Triton / Clio. But it didn't work.

The implosion worked great, but the colors came out ugly.

Can anyone tell me, what I'm doing wrong? Or are these colours doesn't go with implosions?

Thank you!

Hy,

the color looked like it has never been in the flame.
It absolout did nothing.

Multicolor is a striking color, so you need to control the strike. It can be overstruck by repeated heating, and will revert to tan.
Triton is a reduction color, and needs to be reduced with a propane rich flame before encasing in clear. Reintroducing it into a neutral flame can erase the reduction.
Clio is also mostly a reduction glass, although you can get some pink if layer it on orange transparent.

I am not sure if they are appropriate for implosions due to the requirements to strike and reduce. I do not make implosions, but use all of that glass, and think perhaps implosions require to much reheating.

I've had some luck with pulling stringers of the reducing glass first, then hitting the tips of them with a reduction before putting them on the clear, once the reduced tip hits the clear, that surface will keep it's reduction. You can dab a little clear on the dots or whatever you are imploding after hitting them with the reduction flame, more often than not, that will seal it up as well, or use a transparent color if the clear is going to mess your design up... I don't know if that made any sense at all.
Here's an example of how it turns out though...

If all else fails, reduce first and then poke them in but if you poke more than a little it will put them too high/deep and the clear will take the bottoms over and end up like this one...

I was hoping you wouldn't ask LOL... I'm not sure, it's an old pic from like 2007ish, might be TAG Fire Lotus or if it is a DH, it's one of the really early reduction colors.

Lol

Do you think it, also works, when i make a clear encased cane / stringer, with a reduction color.

First take a gater of the color, reduce it, than encase with clear and pull a cane / stringer. Lay it down on the maria and then implode this?

Have you ever try somethink like that?

(Sry my english isn't that well - hope you understand what i mean)

You could certainly try it that way, you would need to remember that there is going to be a layer of clear all the way around the reduction and account for that in your design though. Some of those reductions are very fragile and will vanish in a flash and might not hold up to or under the encasement, would think that depends totally on the glass being used. I don't know that I've ever tried pulling a reduction encased like that, if you try it let us know how it turns out!

I tried it, like you wrote und I think it worked
Thank you!
Now I have to wait, until the kiln is cool.

I haven't much experiences working with double helix glases. (For example clio, doesn't work for me, all the time)

But I'll try to make the cane tomorow.
I think i've seen a pedant, that is made with such a cane.

It' so exciting lol

That's awesome. Glad it worked for you.

I got to thinking about encasing a reduction and I'd bet that a 'Cold Injection' method would work for that without risking loosing the reduction. Maybe pull your reduction glass into a thick stringer in a reduction flame, then get a small gather of clear and plunge the reduced stringer into the clear and then pull it, you'd want a pretty thick stringer to plunge or the final pull will be too much clear. Either way, post some pics!

Tried it yesterday. But I wasn't able to reduce clio (also not in a normal bead), don't knwo what I've done wrong

I also tried to make a encased cane with the reichenbach multicolor. The cane worked well. Und looked realy nice. Also got some colors, when I use it.
Don't like how it came out lol

That looks kinda cool to me! It reminds me of reflections of water in a swimming pool, except for the pink color.
