Mystery tool...
My studio has been packed away for about 5 years now. Finally we have part of the storage in our garage and I am going through my stuff. I found a tool that does not immediately look like a glass tool, but thought it is likely what I have gotten it for anyways, does anyone have any idea what it is and what purpose would it be used?
My guess is that it has something to do with measuring the gauges of tubing? Or maybe not.
I guess my image doesn't show... maybe just the link will work...

Do the holes go all the way through? Drawing down wire to the needed size?

Yes, they do, it is a jig for sure, just not really tiny holes, like you would expect for a wire... but maybe for tubing to make cored beads... But I really can't remember, I doubt I ever even used this.

To be honest, it was not in with any of my glass tools, but it was in a box where all my loose beads were, so not really sure if that is what I bought it for, but most likely. I think this will likely remain a mystery.

I know it now... just remembered, this is a jig to pull the viking knit/weave.
Thank you for your help, I think that peg that I found in the same box is actually part of this.

It just dawned on me that it might be for viking knit, yay! I tried doing it, but never made the thing to pull it down, so never got far into it myself, but saw a demo.

I have a bunch of tools I have never used, this was one of those, that's also why I didn't remember what it was, also the odd placement in the storage made me think maybe it had something to do with fiber arts, but I didn't really start those until after all my glass and jewelry stuff got stored away... Always getting myself into stuff.

I was going to say draw plate and ask if you ever did any Viking knit, but I see that's already been mentioned. LOL

You are correct Chocake. It is a draw plate. I’ve used very similar ones to make Viking knit.
